An Inconvenient Truth

Al Gore’s "An Inconvenient Truth" premiered today at 9pm on HBO in celebration of Earth Day. I first saw it last 2007 Earth Day with my sister as it screened at the SM Megamall for free (SM malls did an encore today …Thanks Mr. Henry Sy !).

It’s a good thing I saw it again on the HBO premiere as I got to also watch "The Inconvenient Truth: Al Gore’s Update" which  I presume was just added on the DVD extras.

Aninconvenienttruth

While some argue (the debates are ongoing) that this movie was more political than technical and that Global Warming is a non-issue, personally I would rather be on the Earth-friendly conservationist side.

We only have a finite amount of resources on this planet and we must carefully and efficiently use them so that there would still be legacy left for the generations to come.

Let’s not wait for that point in time where we can mutter to ourselves: "uhhmm… well… Al Gore and them tree-huggers were right after all…"  Because when that time comes, it might be a little too late.

Let’s all do our own bit to help save the environment.

Save Mother Earth… She’s the only one we’ve got !

For those who want to catch it on HBO Asia, repeats for this month are scheduled on the 23rd at 1 pm.; the 25th at 11 pm; the 26th at 7 pm; and the 27th at 5 pm.

Happy Earth Day !!!

Last year I got exposed to Ms. Christine Gambito’s wacky antics at her HappySlip channel on YouTube … now she’s been made an ambassador of Tourism by the DOT.  You can visit her site at http://www.happyslip.com

And who can forget the Dancing Inmates from Cebu video that became Time magazine’s number 5 most viewed video for 2007?  It’s currently on its 14.2 millionth view.

Lately, YouTube has once more opened doors of opportunity for 2 more Pinoys…

Charice Pempengco… great voice in a small package. She was only 3rd placer at the Little Big Star contest and lost to more popular Sam Concepcion.  O well… stories like these are pretty common and happens to the best of stars.

Charice fanatics have been so crazy about her that they keep on (pointlessly) comparing her to America’s Got Talent winner Bianca Ryan just because she sang the same Dreamgirls song and appeared on Ellen…
